We are invited to the Midwinter Musical Evening at Waldersee on February 23 @ 6:30pm.

Worship and Music

We are grateful to have worship every Sunday morning and give thanks to everyone for sharing their gifts. Thank you to the choir for their faithfulness. We have two ways of playing hymns. Some people can play them on a musical instrument, some play them on the radio, tape recorder, CD, etc. Besides playing and singing we can pray a hymn. Yes, using hymns, we can sing prayers of praise. Think of a time when a hymn pops into our head and it isn't even Sunday; those Sunday School favourites- The B-I-B-L-E, Jesus Loves Me, I Have the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in my Heart, the list goes on. Every Sunday churches around the world sing great hymns of faith. Lean on the hymns, “God Be With You Till We Meet Again”.

Begin your day with a hymn: Psalm 92:1-2 “ It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night. Psalm 59:16 “In the morning I will sing of your love, for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble”.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above, Ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

February HYmn Of the Month

#523 Let Us Go Now to the Banquet

This hymn is found in the ELW Gathering section, on the top right hand side of the page. At the left hand side on the bottom of the page the composer’s name and text is printed.

Guillermo Cuellar, was commissioned to compose the folk mass La Misa Popular Salvadorena for Archbishop Oscar Romero. In August 2018, we learned another of his compositions, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy”.

May the words to this new hymn speak to our hearts. #523

I will rise in the early morning; the community’s waiting for me. With a spring in my step I'm walking with my friends and my family.

God invites all the poor and hungry to the banquet of justice and good Where the harvest will not be hoarded so that no one will lack for food.

May we build such a place among us where all people are equal in love. God has called us to work together and to share everything we have.

R/ Let us go now to the banquet, to the feast of the universe.
The table’s set and a place is waiting; come, everyone, with your gifts to share.
