Council News

Thank you to all the people who helped clean the church this past Saturday morning (or earlier if not available on Saturday)

The solid oak table that was in the Boardroom prior to VBS fell apart whn attempting to move it back. Venton took it home and repaired it. The table is very heavy and has to be taken apart to move it any distance. Council's decision for the table's final resting place is the Youth Room.

If the table needs to be moved, it must to be LIFTED – NOT dragged. Dragging the table over the carpet will loosen the hardware holding it together.

Many thanks to Benton for spending time fixing this piece of our church's history. Thank you Garrett Beatty for helping move the table!

Worship and Music

Hymn for November is from the “Holy Communion” section in the ELW, number 493. Taste and See, is based on Psalm 34. The text and Music was written by James R. Moore Jr. Moore was professor of music and liturgy at the Athenaeum in Ohio. Since 1984, he has lived in Vienna, where he gives private lessons in singing and conducting.

November 3, is designated “All Saints Sunday”; November 24, the last Sunday in the church year, is called “Christ the King Sunday”.

The choir is invited to sing at the Remembrance Day service at the Legion, November 11.

Advent season begins December 1. Happy New Year in the church begins at Advent. During these four Sundays in December in the midst of growing darkness we use the advent candles as a sign that Christ reaches into our time to lead us to the light of everlasting life.
