Thanks to all who helped and attended the “Red and White Cafe” over the winter. It was a very successful year. Lots of fellowship and laughter. The money earned at the cafe was $1,800.00.

Hymn of the month for May 2019

ELW 386 “O Sons and Daughters, Let Us Sing”

The first three Sundays in May are days we celebrate more of the Easter season. This hymn we will learn is an old song. The text was written by Jean Tisserand (d. 1494). He was a Franciscan friar, working in Paris in the late 15th century. The text was translated byJohn Mason Neale, an Anglican priest, scholar and translator. The tune is from the 15 century, polyphonic French song of the late Middle Ages.

Don't let the history of this hymn scare us - the words tell the whole Easter story from the resurrection of Christ, the women’s visit to the grave, account of doubting Thomas, to “My peace be with you here”. Singing scripture is special!

Worship in the Sundays in Lent had with special music during the offering. Bouquets to Raymond, Lana & Victor, Deacon Hilde, Shaun, Meghan, Sharon & Benita, and Marlenne. Thank you for sharing God’s love through music. Thank you to the choir for Easter anthems.

Thank you to the choir for the cherry spring tulips given to me. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, prayers, hugs and visits. 🎶

Bouquets to Earl and Val- Thank you for cleaning up the leaves and trimming the plants in front of the church

Until we meet again, Shalom dear friends
